Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people, and achieved superstar status by his folk-inspired pop hits many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems for his adopted state have drawn many to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado like John Denver." Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Today he personifies the state for people worldwide.
